With that out of the way, this is the story of Meg Barnes. Once the co-star of hit television series, she'd likely now be past her prime anyway but Meg has truly lost it all thanks to a slimy con artist husband. Of course when you're rich and famous, no one thinks that losing it all means REALLY losing it all, like sleeping in your car all. So Meg learns every trick in the book to look, well, not so homeless while attempting to get her life back on track.
As she attempts to put her not so distant past behind her, friends who also lost quite a bit, a handsome agent, and some mysterious stalker types all keep popping up, making a comeback seem all but impossile. Meg decides there's only one thing to do - put on her old mystery solving hat and get her own case solved once and for all.
Overall it's a decent "beach read". I'd probably call it chick-lit mystery. There were a few things here and there that made the pacing seem off. Some repetitve wording (beyond Meg's tv catch phrases, which is excusable). Some conflicting, albeit minor, pieces of information (ex. could I do that job, followed by I did those very jobs I just wondered about). Still, overall, a fast fun read if you're looking for a light girlie mystery with a splash of Hollywood thrown in.
