Bedeviled Series 1-4

Daddy's Little Angel (Bedeviled) One day you're twelve and life is good. Well, as good as it can be for a nerdy kid with basically one or two friends, a new age mom who boycotts towns based on their names not exuding good enough karma, and having been raised being told little more of your deceased father than he's the devil. The next day, it's your thirteenth birthday and you find out your dad isn't exactly dead so much as he IS the Devil. That's the story of Angel's life. Not exactly the typical middle school drama though one she has to face while also dealing with very typical dramas as well. The teen aspect of this story is reminiscent of the teen movies of the 80s. Throw in a Devil with a heart and how could you go wrong? I'm reading this as an adult who loves YA fiction. It's a fast fun read. Parts are a bit obvious and have been done before (hence the reminiscent of an 80s movie comment) but that doesn't take anything away from this book. The original aspects of this book make even those scenes that you feel you've seen before feel at least a little new. I'm definitely continuing on with the series.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Dress (Bedeviled)

This, the second book in the Bedeviled series picks up right where the first (Daddy's Little Angel (Bedeviled)) left off. Angel is an outcast who has alienated just about everyone, her popular friends and her geeky friends alike. But she's got a date with Cole, so that's something, right? And surely she can fix things with someone? Gabi? Max? Or will she just mess things up with everyone even worse? With Angel anything is possible. Oh and the school dance is only weeks away so if Angel wants a chance to fix her rep, she's running out of time. And let us not forget that Daddy aka the Devil is, of course, hanging around offering to teach her how to control her powers while she's so sure that she knows it all on her own. A very fun YA fantasy series.
I'm looking forward to the next one.

Careful What You Wish For (Bedeviled)

Picking up right where we left off in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Dress we find Angel still struggling with who she is. Sure, she's the daughter of the devil. And sure, daddy trades wishes for souls. But she has powers too. She'll grant wishes for free! That'll show him! If she uses her powers for good it'll prove... something? That her anger at him is justified maybe? That it should be easy for him to just up and quit his job. Yeah. She'll show him. But as the title of the book warns, be careful what you wish for. Or maybe, more accurately, be careful of an ability to grant wishes for others. See, when granting wishes for others you may create a monster. Or at the very least a mess, one you may not be able to undo as there's a technicality here - if something goes wrong, you cannot undo your wish granting, unless the person you've been granting wishes for is willing to have ALL of their wishes undone. But surely when the person Angel is granting wishes for is Gabi, her best friend, nothing can go wrong. Right? Gabi is smart. She'd never want to do anything that could harm Angel. Nothing that could give her identity away. Gabi wouldn't be turned into one of those wish hungry monsters.... would she? Another fast, fun read in this series. If you've read the others, you won't be disappointed. If you haven't read the others - start with the first and work your way here. I'll be back for the next as this series doesn't yet show any signs of weakening.

Love Struck (Bedeviled)
I'm giving it 5 stars assuming you've read the read of the series, in that case this is exactly what you'd expect from the series.

Four books in we pretty much know the basic premise. Angel is struggling to accept the fact that she is the daughter of Lou aka the devil. Her new-found powers aren't something she's learned to control but being a teenager she's sure every now and then if she gets the itch to use them that somehow this one time will be the time she won't screw up. In this book we have her messing up a couple of times - once with a love spell and once when she sends her parents back into their teen years. Teen Lou, of course, has no clue that he has a kid so she's gotta get out of this mess without his help. As usual things get worse before they get better.

It's a fast, fun read. If you've stumbled upon it on accident, I'd at the very least read the first book. It's not an absolute that you read the other books, but the first would help you really get a feel for the characters that you'd be missing out on if you tried to read this as a stand alone book.

I'm unclear about whether or not there will be more to the series. If this is the end, I'd have to downgrade my rating as it'd not be a satisfying ending but for just a ongoing story it was cute.
